Prashanti Cottage

Situated at 213 metres above sea level, Bhalukpong is the entry point to Arunachal and is 56 kms from Tezpur. The place is famous for archaeological ruins of King Bhaluka who was the grandfather of King Bana of Mahabharata fame and an ancient ruler of the region. A historical fort of 10th-12th Century AD is situated in the foothills of the region and one can see the stone remains of the fort. Some important remains of King Bhaluka’s capital and his grandson Bana are preserved here.

Prashaanti Cottages at Bhalukpong offers a spectacular view of the convergence of the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas with the plains of Assam with the river Kameng of Arunachal Pradesh coming down from the mountains and changing its name to river Jia Bhoroli before traversing down through the Nameri National Park to the mighty Brahmaputra. Prashaanti Cottages are a gateway to the Nameri National Park and to Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh. It is situated on the banks of the Kameng and Jia Bhoroli river. The sunrise from the resort looking across the Kameng is spectacular. There are three types of accommodations available – Premium Cottages (04 nos), Deluxe Cottages 06 nos)and Standard Rooms (09 nos ). Cottages are spacious and include a living room for socialising, in addition, all cottages have a private verandah. The USP of the place is the restaurant which is located with an excellent view of the river and mountains
